By using the Syntaur application or anything published on syntaur.app, you agree to the following. These terms are brief because the product surface they cover is intentionally narrow today; they will be expanded if and when that changes.
About "Syntaur Systems": Syntaur Systems is the trade name under which Sean Cherry operates the Syntaur product. References to "we," "us," and "Syntaur Systems" in these terms refer to Sean Cherry doing business as Syntaur Systems.
The marketing site at syntaur.app is provided as-is for informational purposes. Nothing on the site is a binding offer, contract, or guarantee. We may change the content at any time.
The Syntaur application — the gateway binary distributed from github.com/syntaur-systems/syntaur — is open source under the MIT License. The license is the canonical governing document for use of the software, and it explicitly disclaims warranties; this notice does not override it.
You are responsible for how you deploy and operate the gateway on your own hardware, including any third-party services you connect it to. Syntaur Systems is not a party to those third-party services and accepts no liability for actions taken by or against those services through your installation.
Pass-through integrations with regulated providers (e-file partners, payment processors, etc.) are governed by your relationship with those providers. Syntaur Systems is the intermediary; we route preparations to the provider and route their published per-transaction charges to you at cost, but the underlying service obligation and any service-level commitments are between you and that provider.
"Syntaur" and "Syntaur Systems" are trademarks of Sean Cherry. The logo, name, and brand assets at syntaur.app may not be used to imply endorsement or affiliation without permission. Fair use (commentary, comparison, journalism) is welcome.
